Cities are complex conglomerates. There is more abutment, impingement, and general coexistence of things than can be effectively understood or documented. This rich tapestry of happenstance makes up the connective tissue of cities and, it is not hard to argue, the basis of their appeal. It is at these unexpected juxtapositions that we can be most engaged.
This series steps into those spaces and explores the curious alignments we are presented with. They often have a dreamlike quality. How are we to decode them and what meaning if any are we to attribute to them? Free-associative and resisting of literal meaning, they are the language of dreams emanating from the city’s subconscious.
